We have an exciting role as a Healthcare Assistant (19.5 hours) this role is for our Sexual health service at Fairlawns medical centre with some travel to other sites needed.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery ofhigh-quality, patient-centred contraceptive care across Sheffield, helpingimprove access to essential sexual and reproductive healthcare.
Working alongside an experienced team, you will play a key role in ensuring patients receivesafe, effective and compassionate care in a welcoming and inclusiveenvironment.
Regular Shifts are:
Monday-13:30-17:30
Thursday- 14:00-17:30
Friday – 13:30-17:30
Some flexibility to pick up extra shifts.
Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support clinicians indelivering a range of contraceptive services, ensuring clinics run efficientlywhile maintaining the highest standards of patient care, dignity andconfidentiality.
You will assist with patient assessments, clinicalprocedures, stock management, infection prevention and administrative duties,helping to provide a seamless patient experience.

Job responsibilities
What you’ll be doing:
- Welcome and support patients attending contraceptive clinics.
- Undertake clinical observations including blood pressure, height, weight and BMI measurements.
- Assist clinicians during contraceptive procedures, including fitting and removal clinics where appropriate.
- Prepare clinical rooms and equipment before and after patient appointments.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
- Chaperone patients during examinations and procedures when required.
- Ensure clinical equipment is cleaned, maintained and ready for use.
- Monitor and replenish clinical stock and supplies.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring all patients feel respected and supported.

Experience
- Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
- Experience with Blood pressure monitoring and urinalysis.
- An understanding of local safeguarding processes adult and children
- Experience in a Sexual health service
- Experience of assisting with IUD/IUS fits
- Experience of SystmOne
- Basic Knowledge of how different LARC systems work and LARC procedures.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care -or equivalent experience.
