The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Carlisle area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.
Shifts:Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available)
Hours: Afters/ Nights (Flexibility for start times required)
Pay Rate:
- Midweek – 18.15 per hour rising to 19.15 after 12 weeks
- Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) – 25.25 per hour rising to 27.25 after 12 weeks
- Saturday – 23.52 per hour rising to 24.52 after 12 weeks
- Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) – 25.25 per hour rising to 27.25 after 12 weeks
- Sunday – 26.25 per hour rising to 27.25 after 12 weeks
- Bank Holidays – 34.42 per hour rising to 35.42 after 12 weeks

The role:
- Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
- Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
- Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
- Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
- Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
- Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
- Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
- Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
- Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
- Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm – 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
- Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
- Full understanding of WTD legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
