Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician will play a vital role in ensuring all products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance within this industry. This 12 month Fixed Term contract position in Kent is suitable for detail-oriented professionals with a passion for maintaining excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Deal with trading, customers, technical and production team queries regarding Food/Feed Safety, Legislation & Quality requirements.
  • Involve with site external audits (BRCGS, EFISC, Red Tractor, Kosher, Halal and customer audits).
  • Coordinate and conduct GMP Audits (Good Manufacturing Practice). Review results, identify trends, train GMP auditors, and ensure actions are completed on time and to acceptable quality standards.
  • Investigate quality incidents, including customer complaints; determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct periodic audits of the Quality Management System (QMS), HACCP, CCP, OPRPs, policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements to ensure Food and Feed safety.
  • Train personnel and contractors (e.g., Hygiene, GMP, Site’s Food/Feed safety rules, Quality inductions where required).
  • Conduct traceability/mock recall exercises for BRCGS, EFISC, Red Tractor certification and customers.
  • Oversee contract hygiene team; hold daily discussions with the contract cleaning supervisor and monitor site hygiene to drive continual improvement.
  • Oversee pest control contract, support the pest controller and coordinate completion of the pest proofing list.
  • Be responsible for Salmonella systems, collecting daily, weekly, monthly, 6-monthly, annual, and other scheduled samples.
  • Review, trend, and document analytical results; maintain Internal Quality Incident reports and Near Misses; track and close corrective/preventive actions on time.
  • Complete Quality Management of Change (MOC) and project documentation (AFE); generate quality-related purchase orders/work orders.

Profile / Qualifications

  • You will be an experienced quality assurance professional with experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • A recognised qualification in a quality, food science or similar discipline.
  • Internal Audit Certificate – essential.
  • HACCP Certificate – minimum level 2 – essential.
  • Food Safety certificate – minimum level 2 – essential.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and an excellent team player.
  • Knowledge of BRCGS or similar GFSI.
