We are looking for an experienced paediatric diabetes dietitian to join our team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust for a 12‑month maternity cover.
The post will join a paediatric diabetes dietetic team consisting of 2 band 7 dietitians (one of which is this post), a band 6 dietitian and a band 4 dietetic assistant practitioner. The team is supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team of consultants, PDSNs, psychologists, youth workers and play therapists.
The team works cross‑site at Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton. A driving licence and access to a car for work purposes is essential.
Responsibilities
Work with paediatric diabetes patients and their families/carers in inpatient wards, outpatient clinics and remote clinics via phone or video. Offer home and school visits and travel cross‑site (Derby and Burton) and to visits around Derbyshire and East Staffordshire. Support audit, quality improvement, service development, and junior staff members. Deliver placements for student training and apprenticeships.
Qualifications
- Experience in independently managing hybrid closed‑loop insulin pumps
- Experience with CGMs
- Experience in diabetes care for infants and young children, including neonatal diabetes
