Specialist Musculoskeletal Podiatrist

Overview

We are recruiting a Band 6 Specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatrist to work at Broadgreen Hospital. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated podiatrist to join a small, dynamic team dedicated to delivering top‑quality podiatric care across a range of foot health services, including all aspects of MSK podiatry.

Responsibilities

The post holder will treat patients with complex MSK foot and ankle conditions in specialist clinics such as rheumatology, footwear, triage services and nail surgery. Additional responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist podiatry input to inpatient care at Broadgreen Hospital
• Working closely with the Diabetes Podiatry Team and wider foot and ankle services, including physiotherapy, orthotics and orthopaedics
• Assisting with MSK triage services and rheumatology clinics, assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating podiatric care
• Conducting MSK / biomechanical assessments, orthotic prescriptions, vascular assessments, wound management and nail surgery
• Taking an active role in service development and evaluation to drive continuous improvement
• Engaging in audit and research activities as part of the team’s quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• HCPC registered podiatrist with a degree or equivalent in Podiatry
• Local Anaesthesia certificate
• Strong clinical reasoning and practical skills in MSK assessment and treatment
• Experience with orthotic prescriptions, vascular assessment, wound management and nail surgery
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
