Job title: Press Setter/Operator Job type: Permanent Location: Letchworth Working hours: Full-Time / 37.5hrs per week Annual Salary: Competitive (DOE) Â Our award-winning client based in Letchworth are currently looking for a highly experienced Hydraulic Press Setter/Operator to join their team on a Permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high quality precision sheet metal components for a variety of industries. Â Main duties as a Press Setter / Operator:
- Set up and operate hydraulic presses (50-800 tonnes).
- Install and change tooling, dies, and press settings.
- Produce high-quality sheet metal components to specification.
- Read and work from engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks.
- Work with materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
- Support tooling trials and new product introductions.
- Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
 What’s needed in this role:
- Proven experience setting and operating hydraulic or mechanical presses.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with tooling and die changeovers.
- Knowledge of draw tools and wipe-form tooling.
- Skilled in carrying out quality inspections and using measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamworking skills.
- Own tools and toolbox.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties.
