Room Lead
Room lead role – 37 hours per week between the hours of 7:45 am and 6 pm, all year round.
Archbishop Wake Nursery, part of Archbishop Wake CE Primary School, is looking to grow its nursery provision for children aged 0‑4. The setting is a thriving, forward‑thinking and caring environment dedicated to giving all children the best start in life.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment where children are encouraged to ‘have a go’ and try new things.
- Plan, manage and support activities in the room you lead (0‑2 years, 2‑3 years or 3‑4 years, with flexibility).
- Record observations and share information with parents and carers to support learning at home.
- Use technology to communicate with families and colleagues.
- Seek advice and guidance from senior and line managers when needed.
- Contribute to the overall development of the nursery and support the academy trust’s professional growth programmes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years and Childcare.
- Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Childcare or Food Hygiene qualifications are an advantage.
- Previous experience as a room lead is preferable but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills, enthusiasm, calmness and the ability to take initiative.

You are passionate about working with children, enthusiastic, self‑motivated, patient and calm. You are able to work independently, support a team of professionals who share your vision for childcare, and are confident using a computer.
