Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Staff nurse within our Unscheduled Care Service based at the Assessment Hub, 7B.

Hours

36 hours per week. Shift pattern including nightshift and weekends. This post is offered on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2027.

UK Driving Licence

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What You Will Do

Mental Health Unscheduled Care Services – ICPNT are looking to recruit 2 Band 5s to work, learn and develop within ICPNT and The Mental Health Assessment Hub. Continuing to meet the varied demands of the service we are looking for two keen and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurses to join the team. Successful applicants must be highly motivated for this position as the service involves working across many areas and supporting delivery of established pathways with Police Scotland and AUCS (Ayrshire Urgent Care Service) as well as the ongoing developments within the Assessment Hub. Working knowledge of a range of mental health problems is essential; some experience in crisis management and intervention would also be desirable. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of home treatment which meets the needs of the service users of Ayrshire & Arran. They will also be required to work within the new Unscheduled Care Mental Health Assessment Hub during daytime and nighttime hours. Shift work, including night shift, is a core component of the duties. RMN is essential, as is a full driving license. Experience in acute mental health nursing in the community and previous experience of working in a crisis service/home treatment team is desirable. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work using their own initiative and as a lone worker working within a variety of settings within the community. They should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of current mental health policies and mental health legislation.

Knowledge, Training And/Or Experience Required For This Post

Experience in acute mental health nursing in the community and previous experience of working in a crisis service/home treatment team is desirable. Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work using their own initiative and as a lone worker working within a variety of settings within the community.
