Site Operations Lead
East Lancashire
£65,000 – £85,000 + Benefits
Cast UK are partnering with a high-growth, venture‑backed scale‑up to find their next Site Operations Lead. This is a key leadership role within the organisation that will lead, grow and develop the team as well as introduce new processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, lead and develop high‑performing operational teams during a period of rapid headcount growth, including recruitment, onboarding and structured training plans for new starters.
- Coach and mentor supervisors and team leaders, developing internal talent and creating clear progression pathways as the site scales.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous learning across all shifts and departments.
- Design, document and embed robust SOPs and standard operating procedures that bring consistency as the site grows from a smaller, more informal operation.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma or similar) to drive efficiency, reduce waste and improve quality and throughput.
- Establish KPIs and performance dashboards to track operational performance and surface opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with senior leadership to translate growth plans into practical staffing, capacity and resourcing strategies.
- Lead the site through periods of organisational change, ensuring new processes, systems and teams are integrated smoothly without disrupting output.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational bottlenecks as production volumes and team sizes increase.
- Champion a strong safety culture, evolving risk assessments and safety processes in line with the growing site and workforce.
- Report regularly to senior leadership on operational performance, risks and improvement initiatives.
About You
- You’ve led teams through periods of growth or change before, and you know what it takes to scale operations without losing sight of quality, safety, or morale.
- You’re a natural people‑developer. You get energy from coaching others, building capability in your team, and watching people grow into bigger roles.
- You have hands‑on experience designing and implementing SOPs, KPIs, or continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar), ideally having introduced these into a business that didn’t have them before.
- You’re comfortable with ambiguity. Rapidly scaling sites don’t always have a playbook, and you’re happy to create one.
- You communicate clearly and confidently across all levels, from shop floor colleagues to senior leadership, and you can flex your style depending on the audience.
- You’re commercially and operationally minded, able to balance the demands of output and growth with quality, compliance, and safety.
