Healthcare Assistant
Kings Oak Hospital – 37.5 Hours Permanent
Salary: Up to £27,000 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).
Overview
Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals in Enfield are part of Circle Health Group, Britain’s leading provider of independent healthcare. This full‑time role of Healthcare Assistant is based in the Theatres department and requires a flexible shift pattern.
Duties Of This Role Include
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
- Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
- Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
- Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
- Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care set‑up, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
- Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds and equipment in readiness for patient use.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
- Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community or domiciliary).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
- Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.
