Senior Cost Manager

Overview

A prestigious construction and property consultancy in London is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to join its high-performing cost management team. This role involves client-facing responsibilities across commercial, residential, mixed-use, infrastructure, and public sector work, with progression opportunities within a well-established consultancy environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cost management services across the full project lifecycle: from feasibility and cost planning through procurement, contract administration, valuations, change management, and final accounts.
• Work with major clients, design teams, and contractors to provide clear commercial advice and drive successful project outcomes.
• Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and budget advice.
• Manage tender documentation, procurement, and contractor analysis.
• Deliver post-contract services including valuations, variations, and cost reporting.
• Lead client meetings, site visits, and project progress reviews.
• Manage change control and support final account negotiations.
• Provide clear, accurate, and strategic cost advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience Required

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Strong UK consultancy experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager.
• Confident delivering both pre- and post-contract services.
• Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
• Strong client-facing, communication, and commercial skills.
• MRICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
