Head of Commercial

The Role

As Head of Commercial, you’ll be the go-to expert for all commercial and contract matters, responsible for bidding into the MoD across various defence categories. You’ll play a key role in winning business, structuring deals, and ensuring compliance, while also building and leading a high-performing team as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the commercial function, setting the strategy for business development and contract management
• Develop and manage bids for MoD contracts, ensuring competitive and compliant proposals
• Negotiate, review, and manage contracts, acting as the key commercial decision-maker
• Advise on risk, compliance and legal considerations, ensuring adherence to defence industry regulations
• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive revenue growth and market positioning

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a customer facing senior commercial/contracts role within the defence sector
• Strong knowledge of MoD contracts and UK defence contracting frameworks
• Ability to develop commercial strategies and execute winning bid processes
• Leadership skills, with the ambition to build and mentor a commercial team
• Entrepreneurial mindset, thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth start-up environment
