Service Engineer

Join SOCOTEC’s Environment & Safety team as a Service Engineer. You will be responsible for maintaining water treatment equipment and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations. Your role will involve frequent travel and occasional night or weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service on water treatment equipment such as softeners, reverse osmosis units, ozone units, side‑stream filtration units, UV units and dosing units, including occasional water analysis, sampling and legionella screening.
• Conduct fault‑finding and complete remedial works on water treatment equipment.
• Provide clear, detailed service and water treatment reports, highlighting any problems or required follow‑ups.
• Ensure that service visits are completed within the allocated time.
• Present yourself in a professional manner to our clients at all times.
• Work in accordance with all current Health & Safety legislation.
• Replace consumable spares as per the site maintenance schedules.
• Travel away from location as required, including nights and weekend work.

Qualifications

• Good reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and implement detailed procedures.
• Positive problem‑solving attitude.
• Must be able to travel around London and its outskirts.
