Role Overview
Homecare Assistant / Care Assistant – variable shift patterns available. Shift times include Day Calls (07:00 AM – 07:00 PM), Night Calls (10:00 PM – 08:00 AM) and Waking Nights (just-in-time). The role involves providing person‑centred care for service users with diverse and complex needs, including those with Dementia, within residential homes in Yorkshire.
Shift Patterns
- Day Calls – 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM
- Night Calls – 10:00 PM to 08:00 AM
- Waking Nights – variable/just‑in‑time
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the care role, including mobility assistance and personal care (undressing, bathing, dressing, toileting, pad changes).
- Assist with meals and ensure proper nutrition of service users.
- Interact with service users in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
- Maintain a clean and organised environment for safety.
- Use mechanical and non‑mechanical aids to assist residents when moving.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records of service users’ activities.
- Update care plans and notes promptly and accurately.
Ideal Candidate
- Hardworking and honest.
- Valid care training certificate.
- Full, valid driving licence (personal vehicle an advantage).
- Minimum of six months experience in a care setting.
- Current and valid enhanced DBS check.
- Willingness to work as a contractor under an umbrella company.
- Experience in customer service.
