This role will be office based with 20% travel throughout EMEA. nnnThe successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with our design consultants and internal customers to standardize our structured cabling and server room designs to accelerate delivery and lower cost across our portfolio of building launches. This role requires an experienced professional with a background in structured cabling and has experience of generating designs as well as providing effective oversight. The Design Engineer/Project Manager is expected to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive best practices and establish tools, and standards consistent with large corporate deployments. The candidate will be required to have more than a cabling background. It is expected they will also have a strong IT background with knowledge of other facets of an IT network, such as networking, WiFi, AV, Security, PDU, UPS and Smart Building technologies. You are the right person for this position if you take ownership and challenge the status quo. nnnThis is an opportunity to leverage and grow your existing experience in an innovative and highly collaborative environment where the results of your efforts will directly impact Amazon and its customers.nnnnnKey job responsibilitiesnnCollaborate with internal stakeholder teams to select Design Consultants & Low Voltage ContractorsnnnIdentify and implement design opportunities to lower the cost to serve nnnReview Request for Pricing and renegotiation of bidsnnnImplement a vendor agnostic approach to design & implementation by setting the tolerancesnnnUpdate budget tracking toolsnnnRefine the current infrastructure design material in line with best practicennnImplement design best practice and standards to deliver construction ready designsnnnCoordinate supply chain forecasts nnnFlexibility to work with stakeholders in different time zonesnnnReview Design Consultant weekly progress reports and host update meetings.nnnIdentify risks on critical path and provide resolutionnnnSupport Vendor Manager with QBR by providing operational metricsnnnMain POC for all internal customers for escalations, questions or recommendations of all aspects of the structured cabling and containment pathwaysnnnTravel 20% to time to meet with stakeholders, vendors and visit project locationsnnnTraining of LVCs and Design Consultants on Amazon specifications and standardsnnnAttending progress/room ready meetings in person or online and collaborate with QAQC teamnnnParticipate in the infrastructure life-cycle planning and design to align cabling roadmapsnnnTimely and concise communication (both written/verbally) with key stakeholdersnnnDevelop, track, and report project metrics as necessarynnnnA day in the lifennAs a Design Engineer/Project Manager, you'll standardize structured cabling infrastructure while collaborating across disciplines. Your days include reviewing consultant design proposals, identifying cost optimizations, and coordinating with stakeholders across time zones. You'll work with vendors and design teams to ensure infrastructure meets Amazon and industry standards. You'll mentor consultants and contractors on Amazon specifications, host cross-functional progress meetings, and update tracking tools to keep leadership informed on budget, schedule, and risk. Throughout, you'll balance strategic planning with hands-on problem-solving, ensuring projects deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.nnBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systemsnn- Experience in project managementnn- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional servicenn- Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing timenn- Experience communicating with customers, technical, regulatory, business teams, and management to collect requirements, describe product features, and technical designsnn- BICSI Certification or internationally recognized equivalent 5+ Years’ experience in delivery and coordinating corporate office fit outs from design concept through to deployment/construction and close out.nn- 5+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experiencenn- 5+ years of working experience with Audio Visual, WiFi, fiber optic components, copper cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standardsnnPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domainsnn- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certificationnn- Registered Communications Distribution Designer Certificate (RCDD)nn- Certified Network Infrastructure Technician (CNIT)nn- Certified Network Infrastructure Design Professional (CNIDP)nn- Certified Telecommunications Project Management (CTPM)nn- Experience of Revit, Auto-CAD, Bluebeam or other Computer Aided Design Tools.nnnAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
