Food and Beverage Assistant (F&B) – Waterside Restaurant

Location: Northney Road

Salary: £8.00 (age 16‑17) – £10.85 (age 18‑20) – £12.71 (age 21+)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests.
  • Set up, prepare, and provide service duties for restaurants, functions, and conferences as required.
  • Greet guests, seat them, and provide menus promptly.
  • Respond to guest requests and queries quickly and effectively, maintaining exceptional service.
  • Ensure food and beverage departments are ready for service and left ready for the next shift.
  • Familiarise yourself with menus and all available food and beverage information to answer guest questions.
  • Take food and beverage orders and communicate them to the kitchen and bar accurately and promptly.
  • Deliver all food and beverage orders safely and efficiently, meeting guest expectations.
  • Set up, clear, and serve tables promptly after use to allow timely seating.
  • Maintain good food safety, allergen, and hygiene standards.
  • Keep food and beverage areas clean and well presented, assisting with cleaning and housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Handle guest comments amicably, reporting complaints and positive feedback to management.
  • Carry out cash, charge, float, and till procedures in line with agreed guidelines.
  • Prepare back‑of‑house service points based on expected numbers for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, glassware, crockery, and cutlery.
  • Keep front‑of‑house and guest areas well maintained at all times.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, wearing a clean uniform.
  • Follow instructions and standard operating procedures reliably.
