Overview
We are seeking an appropriately-skilled and qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the A&E team at the major health facility on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
The 12‑bed emergency department treats all emergency attendances across the Island of Guernsey and comprises 5 major bays, 1 paediatric bay, 2 resuscitation bays, an eye room, a triage room and minor assessment room, treating approximately 18,000 patients a year.
Responsibilities
- Have advanced knowledge and skills in emergency care and be recognised as a clinically autonomous practitioner.
- Provide patient‑centred clinical care, encompassing assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within scope of practice.
- Assist in safe referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations, working alongside ED doctors.
- Work within level of competence and locally agreed guidelines to facilitate care for patients and families.
Qualifications
- NMC‑Registered Nurse
- Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice qualification
- Non‑medical Prescribing qualification
- Current or recent post‑registration Emergency Department experience at Band 7 level
- Current EPALS/ALS

- Guernsey Band 8A salary range £73,340 to £87,888 plus an annual bonus of £1,747 and higher unsocial hours enhancements (36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH).
