2026 NQ Employment Lawyer- Glasgow

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a 2026 newly qualified Employment Lawyer to join a well-regarded mid-tier Scottish law firm. This is a strong role for an ambitious NQ solicitor looking to develop their career within a supportive, commercially focused employment team.
n
The role will involve advising a broad range of employer clients on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. You will work closely with experienced partners and senior solicitors, gaining exposure to high-quality work across areas such as disciplinary and grievance issues, contracts and policies, employment tribunal claims, settlement agreements, redundancies, TUPE, workplace investigations and general HR advisory support.

The successful candidate will ideally have completed a seat in employment law during their traineeship, although candidates with strong litigation, commercial or advisory experience and a genuine interest in employment law will also be considered.

Key responsibilities will include:

- n
- Advising employer clients on day-to-day employment law and HR matters
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and settlement agreements
- Assisting with employment tribunal claims and contentious employment disputes
- Supporting senior lawyers on TUPE, redundancy and restructuring projects
- Carrying out legal research and preparing clear, practical client advice
- Building strong relationships with clients and contributing to business development activity
- Managing your own workload while working as part of a collaborative team

The ideal candidate will have:

- n
- Set to qualify in September 2026 (or earlier).
- It is essential that you have at least a 6 months seat in Employment Law.
- A strong interest in employment law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good technical ability and attention to detail.
- A commercial, practical and client-focused approach.
- Confidence working directly with clients.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
