GENERAL MEDICAL WARD, DR GRAY’S HOSPITAL

Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse

Hours negotiable, up to full time

Ward 7 at Dr Grays Hospital is a 25-bedded General Medical and Acute Care of the Elderly ward, providing care for patients with a wide range of acute and complex medical conditions, within a busy and rewarding clinical environment.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Senior Staff Nurses to join our established senior nursing team.

The successful candidates will demonstrate effective clinical leadership and be able to deputise in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse, providing clinical and operational leadership, coordinating patient flow, managing risk and ensuring safe and effective use of available resources.

The successful candidates will have a responsibility for teaching, supervising and assessing student nurses, nursing support workers and other members of the nursing team. They will plan and prioritise workload, delegate appropriately and contribute to the development of staff and the delivery of high-quality person-centred care.

Applicants must have recent and relevant experience at Band 5 level and be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development.

The ward operates a 12-hour shift pattern and successful candidates will be expected to participate in day and night duty rotation.
