Our specialist Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Service has been established for over 10 years. We are expanding our team to have a greater impact across Surrey and North-East Hampshire and are recruiting 3 x Band 7 Psychologists or DBT Therapists to cover West Surrey, East Surrey and Trust-wide roles.

Main duties of the job
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services.
- Mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students.
- Promote a psychological perspective within teams and across colleagues.
- Collaborate with team managers/clinical leads in developing and delivering effective services.
- Work flexibly within the service.

Person Specification
Registration
- HCPC registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or DBT Therapist – PG Dip in DBT and core professional training (e.g., Nursing, Social Work, OT), registered with the appropriate professional registration body.
Experience
- Experience of working with people across the lifespan with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles.
- Experience across a range of psychological models including systemic, behavioural and individual therapy approaches.
- Demonstrable experience working with individuals with complex emotional needs.
- Experience supervising assistant and trainee clinical psychologists (psychologists).
- Post-registration/clinical experience relevant to this care group.
- Ability to manage difficult situations and a demanding caseload, including individuals with challenging presentations.
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate in highly distressing situations.
- Knowledge and experience of delivering DBT (DBT Therapist).
- Essential driving license and access to a vehicle for community-based travel between sites and client visits.
Qualifications
- Psychologist – Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology OR DBT Therapist – PG Dip in DBT and core professional training (e.g., Nursing, Social Work, OT), registered with the appropriate professional registration body.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure to be submitted to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £51,657 to £58,785 a year, including 5% Fringes (HCAS) per annum, pro rata.
