Overview
18 Week Support welcomes a motivated Endoscopy HCA to provide support across Hampshire’s endoscopy services. This role supports patients before, during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, assisting nurses and endoscopists to ensure safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support patients throughout their endoscopy journey, ensuring comfort and dignity.
- Assist nurses and endoscopists during procedures (gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, ERCP).
- Prepare clinical areas, equipment and stock complying with infection prevention and control standards.
- Undertake patient observations and deliver general patient care within the unit.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain high standards of patient safety.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver an efficient and patient‑focused service.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised clinical environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 6 months experience as an Endoscopy HCA within last 12 months.
- Previous NHS experience essential.
- Local candidates within 50 miles of Hampshire preferred.
- Strong understanding of endoscopy environments and patient pathways.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, professional and committed to delivering safe, effective patient care.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to service requirements.
