HSE Officer
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Salary: Up to £50,000 based on experience
Hours: Monday – Thursday 08:30am – 5:00pm; Friday 08:30am – 3:30pm
HSE Officer Responsibilities
- System Management: Develop, maintain, and improve the Business Management System to meet ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 requirements.
- Compliance & Auditing: Manage, plan, and conduct internal HSE audits, ensuring non‑conformances are reported, tracked, and closed out.
- Risk Mitigation: Assist management in identifying, containing, and managing business risks, deploying preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.
- Client & Market Support: Act as the point of contact for customer compliance queries, including conflict mineral statements and regulatory requests.
- Culture & Training: Promote and embed Behavioral Safety concepts; deliver targeted training to support team development in HSE matters.
- HSE Committee Leadership: Support development and management of the internal HSE Committee to ensure engagement.
- KPI & Metrics Reporting: Identify, track, and report key OHAS and environmental measures, focusing on reducing energy and waste costs.
- Standards Communication: Communicate compliance requirements across all management tiers to ensure a deep understanding.
HSE Officer Requirements
- Education: Degree level qualification preferred; minimum Level 4 HNC.
- Certifications: NEBOSH General Certificate for Health & Safety Management (or equivalent).
- Auditing Credentials: Formal Lead Auditor training in ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
- Industry Experience: Demonstrable track record in fast‑paced manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office, data handling, analysis, and systematic investigations or risk assessments.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, organisational, and negotiation skills with a methodical, high‑integrity approach.
- Right to Work: Full current eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Desirable Skills
- Formal auditor training or familiarity with ISO 50001 energy management.
- NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate.
- Specific background or technical insight into electronics engineering.
