Job summary

Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Nurseto) position for the London Region Team covering HMP Belmarsh, HMP Brixton, HMP Pentonville, HMP Thameside and HMP Wormwood Scrubs.

Hours: 8:30am-5pm (bank hours)

Salary: £47 per hour (bank)

Main duties of the job

As a Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner, responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert clinical skills and demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems; provide clinical leadership for the team.
  • Act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times. Support senior clinicians on site and participate in daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients.
  • Work with the team to ensure patient safety, manage complex cases and apply the most up-to-date treatment methodology.

Essential qualifications & experience

  • Registered professional with current registration (NMC, HCPC).
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Masters in Advanced Practice or equivalent.
  • Recognised prescribing qualification.
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
