We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who can work as part of a team and on their own initiative to join our Lead Cancer team as Assistant MDT Coordinator here at BTHFT.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will play a pivotal role in the administrative support of cancer services, by providing a high standard of administrative assistance. They will liaise with the fast-track team to ensure all suspected cancer referrals (plus other referrals connected to the Cancer Waiting Times targets) are captured on the Patient Pathway Management (PPM) system. The post holder will then support the MDT Coordinators in managing the patient’s pathway from 1 st seen appointment throughout.
The post holder will also support with data collection and preparation of patient data for MDTs, ensuring reports and all other necessary information is available in readiness for weekly MDT meetings. This will also include follow up actions post MDT.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Supporting the MDT’s with delivery, collection and preparation of records and reports in readiness for weekly MDT meetings.
- To assist with all post-MDT administrative duties
- Support Multidisciplinary Teams to optimise the cancer patient’s journey
- To assist with the monitoring of patient pathways in line with the CWT guidance to ensure all relevant Cancer Targets are met.
- Maintain an up to date and accurate records on the Cancer tracking system.
- Provide cross cover for colleagues during periods of annual leave.
- To support the MDT Co-Ordinators with accurate data entry as required.
- Communicate effectively within the Cancer Pathway Team and wider organisation.
- T o be responsible for correlating and checking daily reports and escalating issues and concerns where necessary.
- To actively participate in the annual appraisal process and work towards achieving yearly objectives.
- Maintain an up to date and accurate Service Database with support and guidance from the MDT Co-ordinators.
- To keep up to date patient records.
- To cover any other duties as required by the Cancer Management.

Experience
- Experience of managing confidential patient information
- Relevant experience of working within a team or independently
- Experience or working towards and achieving deadlines
- Experience of the Cancer Waiting Times standards
- Experience of understanding complex and sensitive information

Qualifications
- GCSE qualification in English and Math at grade C or higher
