ATKINSON SECURE CHILDREN’S HOME – EXETER
Approximate salary: Weekend work is expected, this is automatically added to your salary, which means you will be earning approximately FTE £34,518 + £917 secure allowance annually – Working towards FTE £39,699 + £917 secure allowance + sleep ins £41 each.
Rolling 8 week rota.
Requirements of the role: Sleep-in shifts are a requirement of the role and are shared among members of the team you work in.
It is essential that all candidates are able to drive and hold a driving licence.
Who are we:
Atkinson Secure Children’s Home is a secure environment with excellent in-house facilities and rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED. Our approach is to provide exceptional parenting to the young people within our care, looking beyond their behaviours to go the extra mile for them and we do this in a safe and therapeutic environment. Atkinson cares for young people aged (10-17yrs) with emotional and behavioural difficulties who have been granted a secure accommodation order by the courts. The young people we care for are often in crisis and require intensive support, intervention, and physical intervention at a last resort, while working on their, education and training in vocational skills and life skills.
The role:
You will help provide a safe, supportive and structured environment for children and young people in secure care, meeting their individual care, health and education needs as part of a dedicated team.
The role includes carrying out observations and assessments, contributing to care and behaviour plans, and supporting young people to make positive progress while reducing risks and promoting their rights and wellbeing.
You’ll work closely with families and professionals, deliver focused intervention work, advocate for each young person’s voice to be heard, and help prepare them for a successful transition to community or open settings.
