Senior Project Manager

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About APS

All Pump Solutions (APS) is a specialist engineering contractor delivering mechanical and electrical pump station projects across the UK water, wastewater, infrastructure and development sectors.

We design, manufacture, install, commission and maintain pumping systems for water companies, developers, contractors and infrastructure clients. With a strong order book and ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a highly capable Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of our expanding portfolio of projects.

This is an opportunity to join a growing business where you can genuinely influence how projects are delivered, develop teams, improve systems and play a key role in the next phase of the company’s growth.

The Role

Working directly alongside the Managing Director and Founder, you will play a key role in shaping project delivery, operational performance and future growth across the business. You will take overall responsibility for the safe, profitable and successful delivery of multiple M&E pump station projects throughout the UK.

You will provide leadership to project delivery teams, site engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership position that combines project management, client management, commercial awareness and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of multiple mechanical and electrical installation projects from contract award through to handover.
  • Manage project programmes, resources, risks and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, principal contractors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Drive commercial performance, cost control and margin protection across all projects.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to achieve programme and quality targets.
  • Review and approve project documentation including RAMS, construction programmes, commissioning plans and handover packs.
  • Support CVRs, forecasting, variations, compensation events and project reporting.
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers, Site Engineers and operational staff.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, systems and efficiencies.
  • Support business growth by contributing to tender reviews, project strategy and operational planning.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering M&E, utilities, water, wastewater or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent understanding of construction delivery, health & safety and CDM requirements.
  • Commercially aware with experience managing project budgets, variations and profitability.
  • Experience dealing directly with clients, consultants and principal contractors.
  • Strong programme management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to lead from the front and build confidence with site teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Water industry experience.
  • NEC contract experience.
  • SMSTS.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Electrical or Mechanical engineering background.
  • APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months, you will:

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of live projects.
  • Improve programme predictability and project reporting.
  • Strengthen commercial controls and margin performance.
  • Develop stronger project management processes across the business.
  • Support the growth and development of the operational team.
  • Help APS build a market-leading reputation for quality, safety and customer service.

Why join APS?

  • £70,000 – £90,000 salary package.
  • Company vehicle allowance.
  • Performance-related bonus.
  • Pension scheme.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Genuine opportunity to shape and influence a growing business.
  • Direct access to senior leadership and decision making.
  • Clear progression into a future Operations Director or Delivery Director role.
  • Work on technically challenging projects that make a real impact within the UK water and infrastructure sectors.

We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up and lead from the front. This isn’t a corporate Tier 1 environment with layers of management. We need a commercially minded project leader who enjoys solving problems, building teams, looking after clients and taking ownership. If you want the opportunity to make a real difference in a fast-growing engineering business, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and help shape the future of APS.
