The Role
This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to make a real impact across the business. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, R&D and Supply Chain, you will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement and ensuring our products are manufactured safely, efficiently and consistently.
Our products are manufactured from bent steel tube, pressed metal components and welded fabrications, requiring practical engineering solutions that improve productivity while maintaining high manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, productivity and capacity.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve throughput and lower manufacturing costs.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring products are designed for efficient manufacture.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and process documentation.
- Improve production layouts, tooling, fixtures and manufacturing methods.
- Analyse production performance and implement sustainable improvements.
- Support production teams in resolving day-to-day manufacturing issues.
- Work closely with Design, Quality and Production to improve manufacturability.
- Assist with the introduction of new equipment and manufacturing technologies.
You will have knowledge of
- Manufacturing and production engineering principles.
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Process optimisation.
- Root cause analysis and structured problem solving.
- Fabrication, welding and assembly processes.
- Robotic welding systems (desirable).
Desirable
- Experience programming robotic welding systems.
- Experience improving assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen or Six Sigma techniques.
- Project management.
- Experience introducing new manufacturing processes.
- Experience delivering measurable productivity and cost improvements.
Qualifications
- HNC (minimum) in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
