About The Role

Routine maintenance

  • Carry out routine maintenance of all machinery, processes, equipment and services.
  • Assess and recommend maintenance tasks for new and improved equipment and services on site where required.
  • Help assess the quality of maintenance tasks carried out by production teams.

Breakdown maintenance

  • Attend breakdowns and make necessary repairs in a safe and timely manor.
  • Report work completed to department through digital record keeping.
  • Complete 5 why analysis of breakdowns and determine any improvements that can be made to prevent reoccurence.

Fault repairs

  • Repair machinery, processes, equipment and services as directed by your manager to bring it back to its functional state.
  • Report work completed to department through digital record keeping.
  • Identify repeat faults and suggest improvements.

Improvements

  • Carry out improvements to machinery, processes, equipment and services based on information supplied from maintenance, engineering and production supervisors.
  • Fabricate and assemble machinery and equipment as required

General

  • Record spare parts used so replacements can be ordered.
  • Store all spare parts in a safe, secure, clean state, clearly identified/labelled
  • Ensure that the areas under your control are kept clean and tidy.
  • Any other general tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Record daily activities completed for KPI’s.

Required Criteria

  • Conversant with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic electrical fault finding
  • Understands and employs correct isolation techniques and aware of safety obligations.
  • Knowledge of machine construction techniques
  • Able to read engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Formal training/apprenticeship BTEC / NVQ Level 3.
  • Flexible and able to respond to occasional unusual working hours and weekends.
  • Basic fabrication skills

Desired Criteria

  • IPAF
  • Experience with Mitsubishi electric.
  • Experience with the use of equipment using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and associated control equipment
  • Design, build and prepare jigs and fixtures.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH.
  • Design and build electrical circuits.
  • Experience with PLC programming
  • Qualified Electrician.
