We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Singing Lecturer to join the team delivering our BA (Hons) Acting degree at University Centre Leeds.
As part of our Creative Arts team, you will inspire and support students to develop their vocal skills, musicality, and confidence as performers through engaging, high-quality Higher Education teaching. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced vocal practitioner and educator to contribute to the development of aspiring actors, helping students build the technical, creative, and professional skills required for contemporary performance practice.
*Salary advertised will be pro rata for the hours worked
What You Will Do
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, inclusive teaching and learning activities that support students to develop their vocal skills, confidence and performance abilities.
- Monitor and record student progress, set targets, provide effective interventions where needed, and deliver constructive feedback to support achievement and progression.
- Develop and use a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies to meet diverse learner needs, ensuring high-quality student experiences and outcomes.
- Contribute to assessment, internal verification and moderation processes, maintaining accurate records and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.
- Reflect on and enhance your teaching practice, maintain current subject knowledge, and contribute to curriculum development to ensure provision remains relevant, industry-informed and aligned with professional practice.
About You
- A passionate, student-focused educator and/or experienced industry professional with a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting student success.
- The ability to engage, inspire and motivate learners through a range of inclusive teaching and assessment approaches that support different learning styles and individual needs.
- Strong communication, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to plan effectively, monitor progress and provide meaningful support to students.
- A reflective approach to teaching practice, with a commitment to continuous professional development and using industry links to enhance curriculum content and student experiences.
- A relevant vocational qualification or degree in the subject area, along with a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed or PGCE), or a willingness to achieve this within two years.
