About the Unit
Our inpatient CAMHS General Adolescent Unit is a 10‑bed ward.
Role Summary
We are looking for a Social Worker to deliver high quality care to young people aged 13‑18 years old within an MDT.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patient safety and effective care and treatment.
- Support the development of young people through learning opportunities.
- Conduct full assessments of risk, protection and social care needs.
- Work closely with families, particularly those with high complexity, to support engagement and relationship building.
- Coordinate with external agencies where partnership working is required.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and contribute to a values‑based approach.
- Engage in prevention and management of violence and aggression training and implement practices on the ward.
- Innovate and implement ideas to improve the ward environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Understanding of child and adolescent mental health.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of complex mental health, attachment and trauma issues.
- Relevant professional training and qualifications.
- Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by the Trust).
- Commitment to complete a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course.
Employment Details
Part‑time, 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours are flexible and can be discussed during interview.
Employment is subject to successful completion of a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and an Enhanced DBS check.
