About the Role
Immediate starts are available for experienced Class 1 Drivers (C+E) looking for ongoing day work in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity to secure regular work with well-established transport and logistics companies, offering competitive pay, weekly PAYE payroll and a variety of driving assignments.
As a Class 1 Driver, you'll operate both curtain-sided and flatbed trailers, delivering palletised freight, concrete products, steel, pipes, building materials and other industrial goods to commercial customers.
This role is ideal for confident Class 1 Drivers with previous flatbed experience who are comfortable securing loads safely using ratchet straps and other load restraint equipment. Typical start times are between 6:00am and 7:00am, providing consistent daytime hours.
Key Responsibilities
As a Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:
- Driving Class 1 (C+E) curtain-sided and flatbed vehicles.
- Delivering palletised goods, concrete products, steel, pipes, building materials and other industrial materials.
- Completing customer deliveries and collections safely and efficiently.
- Safely securing loads using ratchet straps and approved load restraint methods.
- Opening and closing curtain-sided trailers where required.
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks before and after each shift.
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately.
- Providing a professional and courteous service to customers.
- Maintaining communication with the transport office where required.
- Working in full compliance with Driver Hours, the Working Time Directive and all road transport legislation.
Requirements
We're looking for reliable and professional Class 1 Drivers who take pride in their work, understand transport compliance and are committed to delivering excellent customer service.
To be considered, you'll need:
- A valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence held for a minimum of 1–2 years.
- At least 10 months to 1 year's Class 1 driving experience.
- Previous experience operating both curtain-sided and flatbed trailers.
- Confidence securing loads using ratchet straps and other load restraint equipment.
- A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- No more than 6 penalty points.
- No endorsements resulting in a driving ban or disqualification.
- A good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Your own hard hat and the correct PPE.
- A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.
