Café Chef, Threshfield, £15 per hour, 18 hours per week, weekend work
Main Purpose of Job:
Woodland Café is located in Long Ashes Park, Threshfield, in the picturesque Wharfdale Valley. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Chef to join our team, working Saturday and Sunday 11am – 8.30pm.
Reporting Responsibility: Reports to the Head Chef and General Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing and making all dishes to a high standard.
- Taking pride in the presentation and quality of food from your kitchen.
- Helping to prepare for upcoming reservations and spa days.
- Accurately checking deliveries, reporting any shortages.
- Communicating effectively with the management and café team and encouraging an atmosphere of respect and co-working.
- Offering ideas and feedback to management to consistently review and improve our menus.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and care of the equipment and working areas.
- Checking that all equipment is working safely and is compliant.
- Being proficient in the understanding of the law regarding allergens.
- Demonstrating a high level of food safety knowledge.
- Completing wastage and staff food logs to accurately record GPs.
- Ensuring the Safer Food, Better Business records are kept up to date.
About the role
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications:
Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Hygiene (Level 3 desired).
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Excellent understanding of food hygiene regulations.
Experience:
A minimum 2 years experience as a chef in a past paced, high volume environment.
Skills and Attributes:
A highly organised individual who thrives working under pressure.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manager workload effectively.
Excellent communication skills.
Must have a willingness to learn new skills and ways of working.
Must have a flexible approach to working arrangements and an ability to align working hours with customer demand and workload.
