This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly reputable engineering business supplying into critical, highly regulated industries, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials, components, and services to support production and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and services in line with production requirements and business demand.* Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are achieved.* Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms to deliver best value and cost efficiencies.* Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply, quality, and delivery issues proactively.* Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability and continuity of supply.* Analyse inventory levels, demand forecasts, and purchasing trends to support effective stock management.* Identify cost-saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing initiatives across the supply base.* Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing data within ERP systems.* Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain functions.
Key Requirements
* Previous experience in a Buyer, Procurement, or Purchasing role within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, or other regulated industries.* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.* Experience managing purchase orders, supplier performance, and inventory requirements.* Strong commercial awareness with a proactive approach to cost reduction and supplier development.* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.* ERP/MRP systems experience preferred.* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
