As a key member of the team reporting to the Senior LegalTech & Innovation Manager, you will engage with colleagues across our network and directly interact with clients through pitches and product co‑creation. You will support the integration layer between applications and act as a bridge between emerging AI developments and the technology team. This is a global role, based in our London office, working closely with all our offices to drive adoption of legaltech and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with other members of the LegalTech and Innovation team to ensure all enquiries on legaltech tools and platforms managed by the team (including HighQ, Luminance, Legora, Betty Blocks, Juristic, the intranet plus GenAI tools such as Microsoft Copilot) are acknowledged promptly, manage end‑user expectations, prioritise workload, and highlight any strategic POC trials in progress.
  • Gather requirements for new client portals, project sites and bespoke solutions through direct liaison with Bird & Bird lawyers, assess which of the firm’s tech products meets requirements, and advise on options.
  • Collaborate with the LegalTech & Innovation Manager to raise awareness and drive adoption of existing tools across offices, practice groups and sectors—including organising workshops, POCs and internal pilot programmes.
  • Participate in the firm’s global LegalTech focus group, look at new tech and provide feedback on products trialed.
  • Maintain systems training materials and guides (internal and client‑facing) to ensure stakeholders have all the materials they need to get maximum benefit from the system and that all learning styles are catered for:
    • e‑learning videos for administrators, end users and clients.
    • quick reference guides for administrators, end users and clients.
    • bespoke guides for clients.
  • Carry out inductions for new joiners on our legaltech products and provide more advanced training of lawyers and secretaries in using HighQ in both London and globally.
  • Day‑to‑day manage our LegalTech register and maintain an up‑to‑date list of the firm’s products in LegalTech and Innovation.
  • Horizon‑scan the market for new products and solutions or support product trials where there is a demand from the firm for new technology to transform the way we deliver legal services.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support for the Innovation platform (Bloom) in the firm, including reviewing and progressing ideas in the platform and moving them forward in the Bloom Framework.
  • Perform general administration including compiling reports on system usage and trends, progressing the archive programme and actively involving myself in process improvement alongside the LegalTech and Innovation team—e.g., identifying automation or integration opportunities influenced by firm legal technology roadmaps and user feedback.

  • Minimum 3+ years in a commercial environment, preferably within a law firm or legal department. Website administration experience (e.g., Intranet/Extranet/Internet site) – ideally some SharePoint experience.
