What you’ll be doing
We’re looking for an experienced Regulatory Innovation & Nutrition Manager, who will primarily be responsible for identifying and delivering consumer-led innovation and renovation opportunities that drive brand growth, profitability and category expansion within the Regulatory & Nutrition sector. Working cross-functionally, the role will turn insight into successful service portfolios and propositions, The role will also use data, emerging technologies and agile ways of working to accelerate innovation, improve success rates and support on building a sustainable pipeline for future growth aligned with company strategy.
Client & Event interface:
- Represent Campden BRIs interests externally and gather information on regulatory developments via Trade Associations and relevant stakeholder meetings.
- Supporting the establishment, development, and implementation of the strategy, including service expansion in new and emerging regulatory areas.
- Ensuring that agreed financial budget targets are being met or exceeded with clear focus on sustainable revenue growth;
- Identifying and converting business opportunities, particularly within specialist and high-growth regulatory areas.
- Leading and supporting in development of marketing activities, proposing new regulatory services, and suggesting improvements of current services to expand and promote regulatory portfolio to new and existing clients;
- Managing relationships with clients and external partners; preparing quotes and proposals.
Team management:
- Developing and growing the team of specialists to support both core and specialist regulatory services;
- Ensuring staff availability and capability to manage workload and effectively deliver high-quality and high-value services; Conducting one-to-one meetings for appraisals, objectives setting and ongoing development;
- Establishing goals and key performance indicators while being responsible for performance management and contribution to growth;
- Setting up training and development plans including upskilling in specialist areas (e.g., novel foods, sustainability, nutrient profiling, food supplements, alcoholic beverages);
- Inspiring a collaborative team culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
Regulatory consultancy:
- Delivering specialist regulatory services on time and within budget (including Campden BRI publications such as Beer Labelling and Beer Knowledge);
- Project management; answering questions from members, other clients, colleagues, team members on the content, application, and interpretation of the food legislation;
- Representing company at events, conferences, meetings, forums; maintaining and extending a high level of awareness of current and future regulatory developments, including those impacting innovation, health, and sustainability agendas.
Process management:
- Establishing, managing, and developing processes and applying control in the form of improvement and root cause analysis; supporting the development of quality assurance, customer service, and internal protocols; implementing, reviewing, and optimising of internal and client processes.
What we’re looking for
- Degree qualified in science, law or a related discipline
- Experience of legislation in Europe or any other international market, language skills are advantageous
- An extensive knowledge of food law acquired in a commercial, enforcement or policy setting over at least 5 years and significant practical experience in delivering projects in this area. Good understanding of the food industry.
- Strong team management skills – ability to motivate and coach
- Track record of larger scale project management, business development, and securing significant revenue
- Strong leadership, problem solving
- Proven IT skills.
- Excellent presenting skills.
- Customer service-oriented and committed to providing an outstanding level of service to all
- Highly organised and process driven, ability to multi-task, time management and prioritisation skills working with tight deadlines.
