You will support our team at the variety of events and functions offered to our guests such as weddings, business conferences, and private gatherings, delivering an exceptional standard of service.

You can expect to be offered a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends, which may include later hours for events such as weddings. Some typical shifts include 6pm-2am, 10am-6pm, and 2pm-10pm.

The rate of pay for these casual positions is £9.55 to £12.75 per hour depending on your age.

About The Role

  • To serve and assist guests attending a wide variety of events in the Hotel, and support other areas when required such as the bar and restaurant.

  • To provide the highest standard of service to guests, ensuring all guest needs and expectations are met.

  • To be knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and to be proactive in the sale of these to guests.

  • To set up function and meeting rooms in accordance with guest requirements and Hastings standards.

  • To ensure that function rooms and guest areas are maintained in a clean and tidy manner in accordance with departmental standards.

  • To comply with all health, safety, hygiene and licensing policies and procedures.

  • To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all staff are treated with respect.

  • To ensure that any issues are dealt with courteously and in an efficient manner, or escalted to the Manager on Duty when required.

  • Any other duties as required by management.

Required Criteria

  • Right to Work in the United Kingdom
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to deliver an exceptional level of customer service
  • Ability to work under pressure and be a team player
  • A professional appearance
  • Excellent attention to detail

Desired Criteria

  • Previous hospitality experience, particularly in hotels
  • Educated to Level 2 (GSCE) or the equivalent with grades A-C in English and Mathematics
