Job Introduction
We are recruiting a dedicated Health and Social Care Tutor to deliver courses that help adults and young people aged 16 and above build skills, gain qualifications and move forward in their lives. You’ll be part of Milton Keynes City Council’s Community Learning service, supporting inclusive learning that responds to local need and improves life chances.
This role supports residents to achieve qualifications, develop confidence and take positive steps towards employment, further learning and personal goals.
Site‑Based: You will be expected to work from the designated workplace.
Interviews for this role will be held on 11th and 12th August 2026.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality Health and Social Care teaching using approved planning and assessment methods.
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Support adults and young people to achieve their learning goals and gain relevant knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with Curriculum Managers and colleagues to support quality improvement and positive learner outcomes.
- Maintain accurate learner records to meet funding and inspection requirements.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, and online safety throughout teaching.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture that supports continuous improvement and learner success.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience teaching Health and Social Care within further education, adult learning or a similar setting.
- Recognised teaching qualification at Level 3 or Level 4, or a willingness to work towards one.
- Understanding of quality standards and inspection requirements within education and training.
- Ability to build positive relationships with adult learners and support them sensitively and effectively.
- Confidence delivering learning both face‑to‑face and online.
- Shared values of dedication, respect and collaboration.
