Job Description:

Our client, a well-established electronics manufacturing services provider, is looking for an SMT Machine Operator to join their team on a permanent basis in Berkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturing business operating from a modern facility, supporting the production of high-quality electronic assemblies for customers across a diverse range of industries.

Key responsibilities of the SMT Machine Operator job in Berkshire:

  • Load and prepare feeders for SMT production requirements.
  • Carry out PCB setup and handling for production line processes.
  • Set up and operate solder paste printing equipment, including stencil loading, programme creation, production processing, and stencil cleaning.
  • Set up, programme, and operate SMT placement machines.
  • Create and maintain machine programmes in line with production requirements.
  • Process production runs efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Strip machines following production and return components to kits in the correct order.
  • Operate reflow ovens to process assembled PCBs.
  • Follow work instructions, build documentation, and quality procedures accurately.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe working environment.

Experience required for the SMT Machine Operator job in Berkshire. Experience in a similar SMT manufacturing role.

  • Good knowledge of PCB-level SMT component assembly.
  • Basic understanding of PCB technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT assembly processes and manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience reading and following work/build instructions.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of Moisture Sensitivity Levels(MSL).
  • Good IT skills, including experience using machine control and programming software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
