Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist within the Intensive Support Service and Acute Mental Health in-patient wards to provide assessment and treatment of people with a Learning Disability. This post is based at Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine. .
Hours
36 hours per week.

What You Will Do
The successful candidate will work within the Intensive Support Service and Acute Mental Health in-patient wards in partnership with occupational therapy colleagues as part of multi-disciplinary teamwork. This role requires the occupational therapist to manage a caseload, using evidence based principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. You will be passionate in empowering service users to achieve their goals and to remain as independent and active as possible. Participation in service improvement within this role is expected and encouraged.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
Your role will include promotion and education to relevant stakeholders. It is therefore essential that you possess effective communication skills, which will include presentation skills, written reporting skills and interpersonal skills. You will also require to develop effective networks with colleagues across health, local authority and partner agencies to support the needs of people referred to you.
You will be joining a team who are enthusiastic and committed to delivering compassionate, person centred, strengths based, timely and innovative care to ensure support during periods of increased need.
As a clinical practitioner, the successful applicant will require an understanding of current national and local agendas influencing services and be able to evidence continuous professional development.
