Position
An experienced pharmacy technician is needed to join our senior pharmacy team and participate in the provision of high‑quality pharmaceutical service within NHS Ayrshire & Arran. Pharmacy Services are undergoing a period of transformational change and this role is vital to help shape that.
Hours
The post is full time at 36 hours and includes weekend, departmental and public holiday rotas. The pharmacy service operates from 8 am to 8 pm in the CAU and the successful candidate will participate in this extended hours rota. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions, you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day. The post is offered on a permanent basis.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
The successful candidate will manage some of the technical aspects of the rotational pharmacy staff at University Hospital Crosshouse, including staff, resources, activity and information, and will provide professional leadership to all pharmacy technicians and support workers at their base hospital. The post‑holder will have operational responsibility for the provision of a quality service in dispensing services across all acute sites, ensuring consistency and working alongside the senior team to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.
Knowledge, Training and Experience Required
Applicants should have experience of managing and leading teams and be able to demonstrate an advanced level of pharmacy knowledge, skills and judgement.

To work in the United Kingdom you must demonstrate right to work. NHS Ayrshire & Arran may be able to offer visa sponsorship for certain roles if the salary meets the threshold and other criteria are met. Sponsorship is assessed on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and pre‑employment checks. The salary advertised is based on a full‑time contract and must be pro‑rated for part‑time positions.
