About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in South Manchester from September. The successful candidate will support students across a range of subjects, helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and SEND colleagues, you will play a key role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in lessons across the secondary curriculum.
- Assist teachers with classroom preparation and learning activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
- Support students with additional learning needs.
- Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in a school setting, preferably within a secondary school.
- Experience supporting young people aged 11–16.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A patient, flexible, and proactive approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in a Secondary school.
- Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or EAL needs.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
