Job Description:

I’m currently working with a reputable civil engineering and groundworks contractor who has secured a major industrial development and is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Site Engineer for an immediate start. This is a long-term opportunity on a flagship scheme involving extensive groundworks, foundations, roads and infrastructure works. The Role: You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day engineering function on site, ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely and in line with programme requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting out and surveying for bulk earthworks, roads and drainage
  • Setting out foundations, attenuation tanks and associated infrastructure
  • Managing engineering aspects of Section 278 works
  • QA documentation, inspections and as-built surveys
  • Checking subcontractor works and ensuring specification compliance
  • Liaising with site management, subcontractors and the client team
  • Supporting programme delivery and resolving technical issues on site

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering and groundworks projects
  • Strong background delivering industrial, commercial or infrastructure schemes
  • Experience with foundations, drainage, roads and Section 278 works
  • Competent using Leica or Trimble equipment
  • CSCS card essential
  • Ability to work independently and manage the engineering function on site
