A well-known fitout contractor in Co. Antrim has a new opportunity for an Assistant Contracts Manager to join the team. Due to a period of growth, the opportunity to fulfil an integral role working as manager between the Delivery & Commercial departments and have responsibility towards the successful delivery of the contract. Other key duties include:
The successful candidate
- Assisting the Contracts Department in the delivery of the contract to include liaising with other departments within the Company
- Requisitioning & measuring quantities of materials & sourcing alternatives as required
- Assisting in the management and performance of off location contracts
- Assisting in the management of contract variations to support the Contracts Manager
- Making full use of your communication negotiating, influencing, analysing, problem solving, planning and organising skills
- Maintaining client relationships
- Assisting with Procurement & Materials Buying
- Assisting with planning/ programming
- Attend weekly project review meetings
- Managing all contractual variances in conjunction with the Commercial Department
- Subcontractor management
- Providing leadership and direction to Assistant Contract Managers / Project employees
Criteria:
- Ideally educated to Degree level with at least 2-3 years previous experience working in a construction related industry in a similar role
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully manage the delivery of a project/contract from inception
- Demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative
- Demonstrate leadership/ management skills and commercial awareness
- Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Travel to site is required 1-2 days per week.
