THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Skipper to lead operations across our Rousay Sea Sites in Orkney. Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the vessel and equipment, while helping to keep our Rousay sites running safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be directly reportable to the Area Manager and their duties will include, but not limited to:
- Skippering the vessel and ensuring the safe day-to-day operation in line with company procedures.
- Grid work/Moorings, which will include the installation and maintenance of the mooring grid and associated equipment.
- Installation of all site infrastructure.
- Assisting site staff to complete movements and treatment of fish.
- Other site related work as and when required, assisting site staff in the day to day working of their sites.
- Ensuring all paperwork is kept up to date and accurate.
- Follow company Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Sea Survival Qualification.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Yacht Master, Coastal Skipper or Advanced Power Boat Certificate.
- Previous experience operating vessels in a marine or aquaculture environment.
- Candidates must be flexible with working hours and days.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be required to hold and maintain an ML5 Medical Certificate.
