Social Researcher

• Provide high quality research-based evidence and advice for Ministers and officials
• Build relationships with external stakeholders to bring expert knowledge into decision making
• Commission and manage external research projects
• Undertake internal research using various methods such as literature reviews, interviews, and focus groups
• Contribute promptly and accurately to briefings
• Make a significant contribution to the aims and objectives of the Social Research Group

Requirements

• GSR Professional Research Skills at Research Officer (RO) level
• Experience using some Social Research techniques in both primary and secondary research
• Experience managing all other stages of a research project (design, delivery, write up and dissemination)
• Experience critically evaluating data and other research evidence with high accuracy and perceptiveness
• Existing GSR (Government Social Research) member or meeting entry requirements

Demonstrates expertise in social research methodologies, including primary and secondary research techniques, while effectively managing research projects from design to dissemination. Builds strong relationships with stakeholders to inform decision-making and contributes to high-quality briefings and research outputs.
