Policy Management Assistant

Location: Bromley, London

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum + bonus

Start Date: Immediate

Our client, a well-established and expanding insurance business that forms part of one of the world’s largest insurance groups, is seeking two driven and ambitious Policy Management Assistants to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional to develop within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organisation backed by the stability and resources of a large international group.

Working within the Policy Management team and reporting to the Head of Policy Management, you’ll play a central role in the accurate processing and administration of the company’s insurance products. It’s a hands-on, varied position that offers genuine ownership from day one — alongside full training, ongoing development, and a clear pathway towards becoming an underwriter within a couple of years.

The Role

  • Manage your own caseload, prioritising effectively to ensure accurate and timely processing across all policy administration tasks.
  • Gather, validate, and record client and policy information, maintaining a high standard of accuracy across all systems and documentation.
  • Review underwriters’ risk reports and supporting documentation, identifying discrepancies and ensuring records are complete and aligned with business requirements.
  • Investigate and correct errors within the policy management system, escalating where appropriate to protect data quality and audit integrity.
  • Act as a first point of contact for enquiries from current and prospective clients by telephone and email, delivering a professional and responsive service.
  • Issue application and renewal documentation, and coordinate renewal activity — chasing, collating, and preparing completed forms for underwriter review.
  • Support colleagues across underwriting, finance, and the wider business during peak periods, building strong working relationships across departments.
  • Meet all KPIs and SLAs, with performance supported through regular audits.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong numerical and maths skills, with confidence handling data and figures.
  • Strong IT and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ideally around one year of professional administrative experience.
  • A degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • High attention to detail and a genuine commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset.
  • A proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach, with a real sense of ownership.

Development & Progression

  • Full training and support to help you succeed and grow in the role.
  • A structured pathway towards becoming an underwriter after a couple of years.
  • Exposure to underwriting, finance, and senior stakeholders from the outset.

Why Apply?

  • Join a growing, entrepreneurial business backed by one of the world’s largest insurance groups.
  • Take on real ownership and responsibility from day one.
  • Benefit from genuine investment in your training and long-term career development.
  • Build towards a rewarding career in underwriting within a supportive, high-performing team.

If you are passionate about this opportunity and meet the qualifications and skills outlined, we encourage you to promptly submit your CV for consideration. Please note that the duties mentioned above are not exhaustive, and the role’s responsibilities may evolve in response to changing circumstances and requirements.
