Role Description

This full-time on-site role, based in Leeds, is for a CCTV Access Control Security Engineer responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining CCTV, access control, barrier systems, and related security equipment at client sites. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site surveys, running and terminating data and network cabling, integrating hardware with existing infrastructure, and performing routine service and maintenance to ensure optimal system performance. The engineer will diagnose and resolve technical issues, complete system testing and documentation, and provide clear guidance to clients on system operation and best practices. The role also involves collaborating with the wider engineering team, adhering to safety standards and industry regulations, and supporting emergency call-outs and out-of-hours coverage when required.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Security Engineering skills, including practical experience with CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and related physical security systems.
  • Candidates should possess Network Security and Information Security skills to ensure secure configuration and integration of security devices into IP networks.
  • Candidates should possess Cybersecurity and Application Security awareness to support secure deployment, remote access, and monitoring solutions for security platforms.
  • Candidates should possess a solid understanding of general cybersecurity principles to identify and mitigate risks in security and network environments.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in security systems, networking, or electrical/electronic engineering are beneficial.
  • Experience with data cabling, fibre optics, and basic CAD or system design tools is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely on-site, sometimes at height or in diverse environments.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client locations as required.
