Your new role You will join a specialist Professional Indemnity team, managing a varied caseload of complex and high-value claims on behalf of insurer clients.

The work is predominantly defendant-focused and will involve advising on professional negligence and coverage matters across a broad range of professions.

Responsibilities will include: Managing your own caseload of professional indemnity matters with minimal supervision.

Defending claims against construction professionals, including architects and engineers.

Acting on claims against solicitors and other professional service providers.

Advising insurers and insured clients on liability, coverage and reserves.

Assisting partners on large-scale and technically complex litigation.

Drafting reports, pleadings, correspondence and court documentation.

Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, witnesses and other stakeholders.

Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship management.

Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals What you’ll need to succeed Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE. Strong professional indemnity experience, ideally involving construction professionals and/or solicitor negligence claims.

Experience handling insurance litigation and policy coverage matters.

Knowledge of professional risk claims, reserving and claims management processes.

Commercial understanding of the insurance market, including insurers, brokers and underwriters.

Excellent analytical, drafting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise workloads and deliver excellent client service.

A proactive, commercial and solutions-focused approach to litigation.

Previous experience working directly with an insurer would be advantageous.
