Overview:
Due to continued growth and strong demand across the UK and Ireland, an opportunity has arisen for a Solar PV Project Manager to join a leading engineering and project delivery environment within the energy sector.
You will lead the delivery of owner’s engineering Solar PV projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while maximising value and reducing risk for clients. The role will involve coordination of internal and external stakeholders, technical oversight, and supporting new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Lead Solar PV projects from inception through to completion
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Ensure delivery against key milestones, cost, and quality targets
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders
Owner’s Engineering
- Provide technical oversight across the full project lifecycle
- Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and drawings
- Support feasibility studies and site assessments
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practice
Technical Support
- Support preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation
- Evaluate contractor and supplier bids
- Provide technical input during construction, commissioning, and operations
- Support performance analysis and troubleshooting of PV systems
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Represent the business in technical discussions and meetings
- Ensure clear and consistent communication across all parties
Quality Assurance
- Implement and monitor quality control processes
- Conduct site inspections and audits
- Oversee commissioning and acceptance testing of PV systems
Candidate Requirements:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or similar)
- Proven experience in project management within renewable energy
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV development in the UK and/or Ireland
- Understanding of Solar PV design standards and certification requirements
- Familiarity with PV modelling tools (e.g. PVsyst)
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, organised, and solution-oriented approach
Desirable
- Experience across multiple renewable technologies (e.g. wind, BESS, CSP)
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Strong reporting and presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
