Homes for Support is recruiting Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our established and newly developing Residential Childcare teams in Crewe and Cheshire.
You’ll work as part of a team supporting children and young people in a safe, nurturing, therapeutic environment – helping them build confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes.

Your Experience Could Transfer To Residential Childcare
You don’t need to have worked in a children’s home before.
We are looking for people who are reliable, resilient, caring, consistent, and able to build positive professional relationships with children and young people.
What You’ll Do
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Support children with daily routines and independence
- Encourage education, activities, hobbies, and community participation
- Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Help children develop confidence, resilience, and life skills
- Complete daily digital records and contribute to care planning
- Work closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals
- Be a positive and consistent role model
Every day is different and the impact you make can last a lifetime.
Your First 6 Months and Beyond
We won’t expect you to know everything on day one.
Our 12-week induction programme gives you the knowledge and practical skills needed to begin your career in Residential Childcare.
Training includes
- Safeguarding and child protection
- Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- Children’s rights and participation
- Trauma-informed and therapeutic care
- Child development and attachment
- Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour
- Health and safety
- Medication
- Recording and reporting
- Professional boundaries
- Care planning and risk management
- Physical intervention training
You’ll receive ongoing management support, supervision, training and development throughout your first six months and beyond.
Where applicable, you’ll also be supported to complete your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
For those who want to progress, there are opportunities to develop your career into senior and leadership roles.

The Essentials
You will need:
- A full UK driving licence
- The ability to reliably commute to Crewe
- The ability to work a 2 days on / 4 days off rota including weekends and bank holidays
- The right to work in the UK
Previous Residential Childcare experience is not essential. Full training is provided.
